At Hanyang, everything we do flows from these three commitments—how we worship, how we grow, and how we love.
교회는 단순한 건물이나 주일 예배 모임이 아닙니다. 그리스도께서 세우시고 빚어 가시는, 세상에 그분의 마음을 드러내는 공동체입니다.
한양장로교회가 하는 모든 일은 이 세 가지 다짐에서 흘러나옵니다—우리가 어떻게 예배하고, 어떻게 성장하며, 어떻게 사랑할 것인가.
Praise Boldly (찬양을 담대하게)
Music is the universal language of praise. When we lift our voices to God together, the walls that divide us—language, age, background—start to fall. Our bilingual worship isn't an afterthought. It's the heart of who we are.
We bring together:
1st Generation — Grandparents who carry the faith that started it all
1.5 Generation — Adults who bridge two cultures and two languages
2nd Generation — Young couples building their own faith and families
3rd Generation — Children and youth inheriting a living tradition
Neighbors & Friends — Anyone looking for a community to call home
Fully Korean. Fully English. Fully one church. This is bold praise—the kind that refuses to let anything divide what God has united.
음악은 하나님을 찬양하는 보편적인 언어입니다. 모든 세대와 배경의 사람들이 한 목소리로 찬양할 때, 사람을 나누던 언어와 나이, 문화의 벽은 무너지기 시작합니다.
그래서 우리는 음악을 중요하게 여깁니다. 우리의 이중언어 예배에서 음악은 단순한 형식이 아니라, “하나님이 누구 이신지, 우리가 누구인지” 를 선포하는 영적 언어입니다.
한양장로교회의 예배에는 다음의 모든 이들이 함께 찬양합니다.
1세대: 신앙의 토대를 세워 온 조부모 세대
1.5세대: 두 문화와 두 언어를 잇는 다리 역할의 성인들
2세대: 신앙과 가정을 세워가는 젊은 부부들
3세대: 살아 있는 전통을 이어가는 어린이와 청소년들
이웃과 친구들: 믿음의 가족을 찾는 모든 이들
우리는 예배요소인 음악과 기도, 말씀을 통해 그리스도 안에서 하나 되게 하시는 하나님의 역사를 함께 찬양합니다.
Live Faithfully (삶을 신실하게)
Sunday worship is great and all. But what about the rest of the week?
We believe genuine faith follows you home. It shapes your marriage, your parenting, your work, your struggles.
At Hanyang, we're committed to helping every member grow through:
Daily Scripture & Prayer — Anchoring your life in God's Word
Small Groups — Authentic community where you share life and grow together
Spiritual Mentorship — Walking with others who are further along the journey
We're not interested in surface-level Christianity. We want to be people whose lives actually look different because of Jesus.
우리는 주일에 삼위일체 하나님을 예배하지만, 살아 있는 신앙은 집으로 돌아가는 순간부터 시작된다고 믿습니다. 그 믿음은 우리의 가정과 자녀 양육, 일터와 사회 속에서 드러나며, 삶의 질문들 앞에서 지혜롭고 담대하게 응답하게 합니다.
이를 위해 우리는 다음의 삶을 소중히 여깁니다.
말씀 묵상과 기도: 하나님의 말씀 위에 삶을 세우는 개인 영성 훈련
소그룹 공동체: 더불어 살아가는 신앙 훈련
영적 멘토링: 신앙의 여정을 먼저 걸어온 이들과의 깊은 관계 속에서 믿음의 유산을 이어감
우리는 신앙생활을 하나의 문화로 고정시키지 않고, 복음에 합당한 삶을 살기 위해 끊임없이 성찰하고 변화하는 공동체를 지향함으로 하나님을 찬양합니다.
Love Widely (사랑을 넓게)
In Matthew 25, Jesus makes it clear: loving Him means loving others. Especially the overlooked, the forgotten, the struggling.
Hanyang is committed to being a Matthew 25 church—known not just for what we believe but for how we love:
Visiting the lonely — Seniors, shut-ins, and those who feel invisible
Serving those in need — Partnering locally to meet real needs
Expanding our reach — Supporting mission work in our city and around the world
Our love isn't meant to stay inside these walls. It's meant to spill out—into our neighborhood, our city, and beyond.
마태복음 25장에서 예수님은 분명히 말씀하십니다. 주님을 사랑하는 것은 이웃을 사랑하는 것, 특히 소외되고, 잊혀지고, 어려움에 처한 이들을 돌보는 것이라고 말입니다.
한양장로교회는 마태복음 25장의 교회가 되기를 소망합니다. 무엇을 믿는가? 로 만 알려지는 교회가 아니라, 어떻게 사랑하는가? 로 기억되는 교회를 지향합니다.
우리는 다음의 사역에 헌신합니다.
외로운 이웃을 찾아가는 사역: 어르신, 거동이 불편한 분들, 관심의 그늘에 놓인 이들과 사랑 나누기
도움이 필요한 이들을 섬기는 사역: 지역사회와 협력하여 실제적인 필요를 제공
사랑의 지경을 넓히는 사역: 생각과 경계를 넘어 사랑의 손길을 확장
하나님의 사랑이 우리의 가정과 교회 안에 머무르지 않고, 이웃과 지역사회, 그리고 세상 끝까지 흘러가게 함으로 우리는 하나님을 찬양합니다.
