Hanyang Presbyterian Church was born from a simple conviction: the church should be a place where everyone can worship—regardless of the language they speak or the generation they represent.
Korean-American churches face a painful divide. Grandparents worship in one service. Their grandchildren worship in another—or leave the church entirely. Families sit in the same building but experience faith separately.
We believe there's a better way.
Hanyang exists to bridge that gap. To create a community where grandma and her teenage grandson sing the same songs. Where young couples and seasoned elders study Scripture side by side. Where no one has to choose between their heritage and their future.
This is church the way it was meant to be: together.
한양장로교회는 한 가지 분명한 확신 위에서 다시 시작되었습니다. 교회는 누구나 함께 하나님을 예배할 수 있는 곳이어야 한다! 세대가 달라도, 언어가 달라도, 문화와 배경이 달라도 말입니다.
그러나 많은 한인교회들은 아픈 현실을 마주하고 있습니다. 조부모 세대는 이 예배에, 손주 세대는 다른 예배에 참여하거나, 때로는 교회를 떠나기도 합니다. 다문화 가정은 처음부터 참여를 망설이기도 합니다.
우리는 더 나은 길이 있다고 믿습니다. 그래서 그 간격을 메우기 위해 노력합니다.
할아버지•할머니 와 10대 손자•손녀가 같은 찬양을 함께 부를 수는 없을까요?
젊은 부부와 신앙의 연륜을 지닌 어른들이 나란히 복음을 나눌 수는 없을까요?
누구도 자신의 뿌리와 미래 중 하나를 선택하도록 강요받지 않고, 편안히 함께할 수는 없을까요?
한양장로교회는 그 질문에 “그렇다!” 고 대답하는 교회입니다.
